Detail Exchange was founded in 2003 by Alex Pekarick, originally conceived as a comprehensive design/build practice that brought together architectural vision and skilled construction under one roof. In its early years, the firm sought to offer a fully integrated approach, uniting the creative process of design with the practical expertise required to bring that design to life. Over time, however, the company’s focus naturally shifted, with an increasing emphasis placed on the craft of building itself. Ultimately, in the interest of maintaining singleness of purpose and delivering the highest level of quality, the decision was made to devote our full attention to construction services.

This intentional refinement of focus allowed Detail Exchange to cultivate an exceptional depth of skill in the art of building. By dedicating ourselves to the construction process, we have been able to sharpen our abilities, strengthen our methods, and elevate our work to the level of true craftsmanship. We hold a deep respect for the spirit of making-believing that every structure deserves the same care, devotion, and thoughtful attention that one would invest in creating a handmade gift for someone beloved.
